Behind the Scenes of a Fall Boho Styled Shoot

This fall-inspired styled shoot brought together some of Kansas City’s most creative wedding vendors for a day full of texture, warm tones, and collaboration. Hosted by Flora Wedding Vendors, the shoot took place at James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area which was the perfect backdrop for this boho-western design. Even though it was a chilly day, the team’s energy (and a few laughs) kept everyone warm. As the co-planner and day-of coordinator, I helped bring the vision to life while keeping the details flowing smoothly behind the scenes.

Inspiration & Design

The concept blended rustic fall charm with a free-spirited, western feel. Think warm neutrals, textured florals, and a touch of boho romance. From the lace gown and neutral bouquet to the earthy balloon installation, every detail tied back to the cozy, grounded aesthetic of the season

My Role Behind the Scenes

As coordinator for the day, my focus was on timing, setup, and supporting each vendor so their vision could shine. Styled shoots are such a great opportunity to collaborate and experiment creatively and this one reminded me just how strong the Kansas City wedding community is. Everyone jumped in to help one another, which made even the coldest moments feel fun.

The Couple & The Details

Our models were absolutely amazing! They were so patient and full of joy! Their connection came through beautifully in every image, from sweet candid smiles to those quiet, intimate moments. The dried floral bouquet, handmade jewelry, and lace gown all tied together to create a timeless autumn look.

Days like this are why I love what I do. Styled shoots give me a chance to collaborate with talented vendors, experiment with design ideas, and stay inspired for my couples’ real weddings. I’m so grateful to have been part of this one and even more excited to see how future shoots (and real weddings!) keep pushing creative boundaries here in Kansas City.
